The charter of the RRR network is to bring together women from rural, remote and regional Western Australia to recognise, promote and expand the contribution they can make to their communities. The project has a coordinator, management committee and uses a newsletter and interactive website.
Lessons Learnt - People can effectively be connected in capacity building opportunities across distances using available communication media. - Clear and measurable objectives need to be established even where there are no direct targeted productivity/economic outcomes to ensure on-going political and economic support. - Constant feedback opportunities are needed for capacity building programs to ensure on-going irrelevance and interest to members. - Women are key contributors to rural and regional communities and benefit from specific support structures. |
